Logos are one thing that will stick with a customer if they really enjoy a product or service. We see more than 100 logos a day. Imagine having an awesome product with no logo. That makes it hard for customers to remember whose product it is!
A logo is defined as images, texts, shapes, or a combination of the three that depict the name and purpose of a business – to put it simply. If your logo is powerful and symbolic, people would see the logo and automatically know what it is, which is important for creating brand awareness. Having a professional, well-designed logo builds trust with potential and recurring customers.
Having a logo:
Gives your company an identity
Makes your brand more rememberable
Again, builds trust with customers
Legitimizes your brand
Helps you create an online and offline branded asset
Allows for growth in the foundation of your brand long run
Now that you know why you should have a logo, where do you start?
Well, start off the same way you did when you came up with your brand name: find that list and look over it. Find any words, synonyms that can go along with your brand name and try to fit it in with your brand name. It can be something extravagant, modern, vintage, simple, edgy whatever you want as long as it’s understandable to your customers.
If you are completely stuck and have no clue what to do for your logo you can try and research some companies that allow you to put in ideas and it will generate logos for you. Below is a list of sites I’ve found that work pretty well.
Finding the perfect logo will take time for most, but if you know exactly what you want then go for it! If you end up hiring someone to come up with a logo for you it’s best to look at their previous work to make sure they know what they are doing. You don’t want to pay someone hundreds of dollars for a logo that only comes in one format and can only be used for digital and not print.
If you don’t really see the point of having a logo, play this short game to see how many logos have affected you without you even realizing it! Good luck 👍
