Inventory reimbursements are a big secret to many Amazon sellers. Most don’t know that Amazon may owe them hundreds of dollars. For sellers who do Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), Amazon handles all the inventory but sometimes things happen to that inventory during processing. Luckily, Amazon has policies already in place to get sellers their money back for inventory. The downside is that the process to receive those reimbursements is not always easy.
Getting an Inventory Reimbursement
So how can sellers receive inventory reimbursements from Amazon?
The answer is not a short or easy one. It requires digging into your account to make sure that any inventory that has been damaged, misplaced or destroyed is credited back to your account.
There are so many reports within Seller Central, it can seem daunting. If you know which reports to look at, you can get money back from Amazon for inventory reimbursements!
You can follow these steps to get reimbursements on damaged items.
First, navigate to Reports > Fulfillment.
Then select Inventory – Show More > Inventory Adjustments.
Navigate to Help > Contact Us
Select the box that says “Selling on Amazon.”
Then click the dropdown menu for “Fulfillment by Amazon” and select “FBA Issue.”
Select the box that says “Selling on Amazon.” Then click the dropdown menu for “Fulfillment by Amazon” and select “FBA Issue.” If you click the box that says “Something Else” it will open a form to send an email to Amazon.
Fill out the form, attach the .csv file you just created and send it.
You should receive a reply from Amazon within 12 hours or less. Once they’ve processed your ticket, reimbursements are usually sent within 3-4 days.
